Give me desktop site when I request it :salt:

So I woke up, checked my discord and saw that the forums are open. In my excitement I decided to go to it on my phone acknowledging that my iPhone 5S isn't the best device to do forum browsing. The mobile site loaded up, it looks nice and works well. However I can't seem to find where I can set my signature if there even is an option, and I also can't find where I can change my profile picture. So I figured I would request the desktop site to see if the option was there maybe. On using the in built "request desktop site" the page refreshes like it's loading something new, but then the mobile version loads in. Don't know if this is fixable but bleh, it's annoying!

What browser are you using? It seems to work for me in Chrome for Android.

It seems to be working fine here. One of our goals is to make sure that mobile users are able to have the full experience too. I've just tested on mobile and it seems that the way to change your profile settings is the same on both desktop and mobile.

You can change your profile picture and signature on mobile in the Forum Profile section. If you click your name in the top right, and hit Forum Profile, you'll be taken straight there.

This is certainly not intentional, and we'll see what we can do about it. We'll also see if we can get a 'Desktop' link working somewhere. The site on desktop and mobile are actually the same site, the only differences are in the CSS, though some things do get hidden which should be showed, which we will look further into as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks guys! Much better response and response times than I would have otherwise gotten on ye olde forums.

I do think it's a little confusing to have 3 similar pages:
- My Profile
- Account Settings
- Forum Profile

All of those look like places that could be where I can change bits of my profile, and could probably be consolidated into one or two pages. Or at least give them different enough names that a dumb dumb like me isn't going to come along and get confused by them. :P

I am not sure how much control we get over those pages, we didn't write this forum software ourselves after all. We'll have a look into it, though.

As an explanation on what all those pages are:
  • My Profile: View your public profile information, as others will see it too.
  • Forum Profile: Edit the same information. (we may be able to rename this to 'Edit Profile')
  • Account Settings: Settings related to your account, such as the login information, etc. None of this is public.
