Title: Making a railway track diagram?

Example ^^

I'm a novice coder, and wondered if it would be possible to do a track diagram of sorts which tracks the position of a minecraft along a section of track. I imagine it would involve detector rails and bundled cables with Project Red is what I had in mind. However, ideally I would like it to be a visual diagram or I have to recreate it with ASCII. I guess I just need to ask if something like this is even possible?

Many Thanks

It will have to be ASCII based and the detector rail method would work. If you have plethora installed then you might want to try using the entity scanner/sensor instead of the detector rails

Just remembered that plethora lets you put computers in minecarts so you could get train position information from the computer riding in the train too.
